Do not worry about my safety at the moment, right now I am far away on a road trip from Paris to Metz. Its over 300 kilometers away, so I am safe. My apartment thought was a kilometer away from the attack, but do not worry I'll be sure to stay safe and keep inside mostly.
This is a really difficult situation with neither of the sides being completely right or completely wrong. Charlie Hebdo has been publishing for over 40 years and has always had raunchy yet meaningful political cartoons. Comedic jobs live off the fortune of making fun. There are times where there is innocent fun but the reason of the shooting recently were for cartoons picturing Mohammad. This is blatantly against Islamic practices of picturing their prophet. It makes a point to the terrorists side for shooting as it was extremely offensive, and was offending an entire religion.
But on the other hand, i do not blame the entire Islamic religion as not every religion is the "right" one. these were extremists who have taken their religion to a whole new level to where they are harming others which is not the point of Islamism. Freedom of speech has always been a gift and a burden as all speech is protected, including this hate speech. There could have been many non-violent ways to have solve this,
As i said i'm safe in the town of Metz many miles away.
